Award Title:PhD Programme for Primary Care Clinicians

Project Title:   How would the refinement of urgent cancer referral criteria, by the inclusion of demographics, comorbidities and other covariates affect numbers of patients eligible for referral and their outcomes?

Brief Summary:

I’m a GP and I also research how to detect cancer earlier in primary care. I am currently undertaking a PhD in which I am using large sets of data to look for patterns that might help us identify cancer earlier in future. If this is successful it might be used in development of future national guidance for GPs, helping them to select which patients to send to hospital to get urgent cancer checks.

Start Date: 1st October 2022
