For the second year, the School co-ordinated the 'SPCR Exceptional Contribution to Patient and Public Involvement' competition to acknowledge and celebrate the many contributions made to primary care research by our public contributors.
The winner was announced at our online engagement event today.

Huge congratulations and thank you go to the late Mrs Katie Tempest, who is this year's winner. Katie was nominated posthumously for her active contribution to the development of the mental health research theme at the School of Medicine at Keele University and who i. In memory and as thank you, the School has made a donation in Mrs Tempest’s name to the Stroke Association, a charity which was chosen by her family.
Our congratulations also go to runners-up Mr Phil Alsop and Mrs Roberta Lovick for their involvement in the patient and public involvement audit within the Primary Care Unit at the University of Cambridge.
The engagement event was attended by over 115 delegates who keenly participated in a primary care research quiz and attended an excellent range of presentations in break-away rooms. The pre-recorded award ceremony for the prize completed the event.
