ICA HEE/NIHR Integrated Clinical Academic Programme for non-medical healthcare professionals
Following the success of this year’s event, we would like to invite expressions of interest in attending our second ‘Developing Your Clinical Academic Career’ event on Thursday 2 February 2017. The event will be held at the ILEC Conference Centre, Ibis London Earls Court, 47 Lillie Road, London SW6 1UD. The day will begin at 9:30am for a 10:00am start and finish at 4:30pm, with optional drinks and further networking until 5:30pm.
The event is specifically for HEE / NIHR Integrated Clinical Academic (ICA), CAT and Healthcare Science trainees and NIHR Fellowship award holders and trainees based in the infrastructure who are eligible for the ICA programme who wish to pursue a clinical academic career.
Key dates and allocation of places
Expressions of interest are invited between Thursday 24 November and Friday 23 December 2016. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis whilst ensuring a proportional spread of geographical locations, professions and award level.
Trainees will be notified if they have a place at the event no later than Friday 6 January, at which point the full agenda for the day, including breakout sessions will be confirmed.
Poster Competition
We will be holding an optional poster competition for delegates. Posters produced for this year's event should address the following question:
How has your research topic improved your clinical skills or understanding of how you apply them, leading to a better experience for patients, now or in the future?
If you would like to take part in the poster competition, please tick the relevant box on the event booking form. You will also be required to submit an abstract no longer than 250 words to HEE.RI@nhs.net by 5pm on 23 December. All abstracts will be assessed by a panel and you will be notified no later than Friday 6 January if your poster has been selected for display at the event.
