Embedding and celebrating equality, diversity and inclusion in research

The NIHR is committed to actively and openly supporting and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.

As part of this NIHR Academy is undertaking a number of activities to:
- Understand the causes of any inequities and barriers to diversity in NIHR training, and
- Embed equality, diversity, and inclusion in our culture and the way we work, so that we can attract the best people and take forward the best ideas and the best research.

An initial priority is to more fully understand the challenges and obstacles faced by BAME researchers through a series of confidential virtual small group discussions facilitated by Professor Waljit Dhillo, NIHR Research Professor and Dr Louise Wood, Director of Science, Research and Evidence, DHSC. This would then lead to further work in this area and potential larger workshops to discuss potential areas for action.

If you are interested in sharing your lived experience as a BAME researcher for these meetings or to get involved in the EDI wider work please complete this expression of interest.
