Project Title:   Improving the diagnosis and management of suspected IgE and non- IgE mediated food allergy in primary care

Brief Summary:

My PhD aims to:

1. Assess the prevalence of IgE mediated food allergy, in adults, across Europe

2. Develop a referral guideline for GPs to identify which adult patients reporting adverse reactions to food require referral to the allergy service for full evaluation.

3. Understand the barriers and facilitators to improving the diagnosis and management of non-IgE and IgE mediated food allergy (including the use of IgE tests or onward referral to secondary care), in adults and children, in primary care.

Start Date: 1st September 2022
