Project Title:  Lifestyle intervention, that includes diet and physical activity components, for people living with gout in primary care. 

Brief Summary:  

The aim of this project is to develop a new lifestyle intervention, that includes diet and physical activity components, for people living with gout in primary care. 

Stages of this project include: 

1. Evidence synthesis (including review of guidelines, systematic reviews, intervention and qualitative studies) will identify possible intervention components and barriers to lifestyle (including diet and physical activity) behaviours.  

2. Semi-structured interviews to explore stakeholder views on views on lifestyle interventions (including diet and physical activity) for gout.  Behavioural analysis to evaluate the semi-structured interview data, identify appropriate behaviour change techniques, and specify the intervention components.   

3. A Community of Practice (CoP) to co-design the intervention.   

4. Develop a protocol for a pilot and feasibility trial of the intervention   

PPIE will be incorporated throughout the intervention development process and will align with the UK standards for public involvement.
