Esther van Vliet
- PPI&E Officer
I joined the School for Primary Care Research in December 2018 as the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Officer. My passion for PPIE started when I wrote my masters’ thesis on open innovation and stakeholder involvement in medicine development. After receiving my MSc in Innovation Sciences from Eindhoven University of Technology (the Netherlands), I moved to England to become a PPIE professional. In the last years I worked on stakeholder involvement at the European Medicines Agency, facilitated patient and public involvement in dementia research at Alzheimer’s Society and most recently I organised various public engagement activities on behalf of the Babraham Institute in Cambridge.
In my role I support the delivery of the School’s PPI and public engagement strategy by working closely together with the PPI academic lead and the PPI leads of each partner organisation.
