Jamie Ross

Jamie Ross

Jamie Ross is a researcher based in the eHealth unit within the department of Primary Care and Population health at UCL. She was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship by the NIHR School for Primary Care to undertake research into exploring and addressing the low uptake of diabetes education by patients with type 2 diabetes.

Jamie's main research interests are in the development and implementation of complex interventions into routine healthcare, digital health, and the management of long term health conditions.

Before her post-doctoral fellowship, Jamie worked a Research Associate in the eHealth unit on an NIHR programme grant to develop, evaluate and implement a web-based self-management programme for people with Type 2 Diabetes, HeLP-Diabetes. In this role Jamie was responsible for developing this complex web based intervention through a process of participatory design and qualitative research.

Alongside this role, Jamie completed a mixed methods PhD at UCL: "Developing and evaluating a plan to implement an online self-management programme for people with type 2 diabetes within routine healthcare".

Before this Jamie worked at the Institute of Psychiatry on a large NIHR programme grant to reduce conflict and containment in psychiatry. Jamie has also worked at City University and the University of Manchester on several mixed methods research projects.

As part of her interest in the field of implementation she convenes a pan London implementation meeting to bring together researchers with similar interests. Jamie also acts in an implementation and digital health advisor on a number of programme grants from a range of disciplines.

Jamie teaches on the Qualitative Research Methods in Health course and acts as a supervisor to students within the department.
