SPCR Trainees Event 2025

We are delighted to welcome invited guests to the 2025 Annual Trainees Event at Chilworth Manor, Southampton on Wednesday 15 - Thursday 16 October.

  • Registration and refreshments on Wednesday 15 October will start 10 - 11am and the day will finish at 4.30pm.
  • Evening meal on Wednesday 15 October will be from 7pm.
  • Registration and refreshments on Thursday 16 October will start 8.00 - 8.30am and the day will finish at 2.30pm.

This event is a wonderful opportunity for our Trainees community to get together to participate in talks, workshops and training, as well as providing networking opportunities to get to know other PhD students, early career researchers and senior academics based within the SPCR.

Please note that attendance at this event is by invitation only.

Our Trainees Event will be held at the Best Western Chilworth Manor Hotel Chilworth, Southampton, SO16 7PT, on 15 - 16 October 2025.

We would like to take an environmentally friendly approach to our event and therefore will not be printing the programme for all guests. From the M3:

Exit the M3 at Junction 14, Exit towards A33 Southampton
At the roundabout take the 3rd exit, onto the M3/A27 Slip road to London, Eastleigh, Winchester
Keep left, follow sign for Chilworth, Romsey
Continue onto A27
Continue straight onto Chilworth Road
Turn left onto University Parkway
Hotel is situated on the right.

OVERNIGHT STAY: 

Check - in is available from 3pm, with checkout by 11am on Thursday 16 October. The SPCR Directorate team will be working with the hotel staff to help to facilitate a smooth check in process.

Breakfast is included with your booking and you can enjoy a great selection of seasonal food and drink in the restaurant which is open from 06:30 till 09:30am for breakfast.

Chilworth Manor has free Wi-Fi available to hotel guests.
