Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) are often regarded as the gold standard in medical research. Conducting a RCT is complex and there are many procedures and processes to follow to ensure that a trial is managed correctly and in a timely fashion.

The aim of this project is to build an online computer software system that will assist with the management of RCTs. The system will help Trial Managers to administer RCTs more efficiently and in a standardised manner. It will hold, report and notify on participants, recruitment sites, follow-up visits and payments.

The system will have functions to make sure data are trusted, accurate, consistent and securely stored. All user activities will be traced and logged.
