Congratulations to former SPCR award holders Dr Ashley Hammond and Dr Sam Creavin, who have been recognised with NIHR20 Research Leaders Prizes for their contributions to health and care research.

Former SPCR award holders recognised with NIHR20 Research Leaders Prizes

Two academics from the University of Bristol’s Centre for Academic Primary Care (CAPC), Dr Ashley Hammond and Dr Sam Creavin, have been recognised with prestigious NIHR20 Research Leaders Prizes.

The awards celebrate the NIHR’s 20th anniversary and recognise research leaders making an exceptional contribution to health and care research.

Dr Hammond has been named one of 20 NIHR20 Research Delivery Leaders, recognising her work developing innovative approaches to delivering large-scale primary care research across the NHS.

Dr Creavin has been named one of 20 NIHR20 Rising Research Leaders, recognising his work improving dementia diagnosis and decision-making in general practice.

Both Ashley and Sam are former NIHR School for Primary Care Research (SPCR) award holders, highlighting the contribution of SPCR funding to developing research leaders and supporting impactful primary care research.

As prize winners, both will receive a £10,000 professional development award, alongside tailored leadership and development opportunities.
