In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Week 2025, the SPCR is spotlighting some of its research initiatives that align with this year's theme: "Community." This theme emphasises the critical role of social connections and a sense of belonging in promoting mental health and wellbeing.
We host the Three NIHR Research Schools' Mental Health Research Programme; an initiative which focuses on improving mental health outcomes in underserved populations through collaborative research efforts. Projects under this programme address various aspects of community and social connectivity, including:
- VIDEO: Adversity into Action. A short film about what it is like to get involved in health research. Please be advised that this film includes references issues that viewers may find distressing, including trauma, bereavement and addiction.
-
PUBLICATION: The role of Black-led community organisations in supporting Black mental health: a Black emancipatory action research project
