Project Title:  What is the role of the therapeutic relationship in ‘modern’ General Practice?

Brief Summary:
As a practising GP I am very conscious of the relationships we form with patients - which for years has been a cornerstone of General Practice. However, recent changes including the rising use of digital contacts, diversification of multi-disciplinary primary care teams, and an increasingly strained system have impacted on how such relationships are formed - if at all. Here I set out to explore what the relationship between patient and GP looks like today, the facilitating or hindering influences on development of an effective relationship and the resulting impacts on individuals, teams, and the wider system.

Start date: 1st October 2022
