Primary Care Research Centre - University of Southampton

Southampton Primary Care Research Centre (PCRC) is world-leading centre of excellence for research on issues of relevance to primary care, offering a wide spectrum of expertise in methodologies and a remarkable range of topic areas. We are located on the South Coast with the New Forest and sea on our doorstep and easy access to Winchester, Salisbury, London and the South West.  

87% of our research was rated as ‘internationally excellent’ or ‘world-leading’ in REF 2014 and we have a track record of developing and trialling effective interventions for patients and clinicians, that improve patient care. 

PCRC is part of the School of Primary Care, Population Sciences and Medical Education in the Faculty of Medicine and has strong links with Public Health with many shared research interests. We contribute to and have close collaborations with Health Psychology, Health Sciences, and NIHR RDS, CTU, and BRCs
