Dehydration is associated with a higher risk of ill health in older people, from having an infection, a fall or being admitted to hospital. To help raise awareness of this issue and to share the top 5 tips to help older people drink well and stay hydrated, Dr Cini Bhanu has created a public campaign video for older adults, which can be viewed here.

This video has been funded by the UCL Policy, Engagement and Impact Fellowship, based on a research study conducted at the Primary Care & Population Health Department (funded by the NIHR School for Primary Care Research) exploring community-dwelling older people and informal carers’ views on hydration in later life and how older people can be supported to drink well. Many thanks to the EbE volunteers who helped bring this idea to life! The research paper can be accessed here: https://doi.org/10.1093/ageing/afz141
