The new PGfAR Director - and SPCR Board Member - Professor Paul Little, talks about the significance of changes to the Programme Grants in his inaugural Director's message. He confirms that the fixed upper limit to Programme Grant funding will no longer exist and "the amount awarded and length of the funding period will depend on the nature of the proposed work."

These changes will be implemented from Competition 16 (which will launch in December 2013) onwards.

NIHR Programme Grants for Applied Research (PGfAR) was established in 2006 to produce independent research findings that will have practical application for the benefit of patients and the NHS in the relatively near future. Further information about the Programme can be found on the NIHR PGfAR website.
