This theme calls on us all to move beyond stereotypes, challenge misconceptions, and celebrate the unique strengths and perspectives of people with ADHD. The NIHR School for Primary Care Research (SPCR) supports research that enhances understanding of ADHD across the lifespan, focusing on improving diagnosis, management, and everyday support for individuals and their families.

SPCR Project 640.
- RESEARCH: Aiming to understand experiences of mental health problems and their treatment in primary care from the point of view of autistic/ADHD/AuDHD adults. SPCR Project 758.
- PUBLICATION: The power of words: respectful language in ADHD research. In The Lancet Psychiatry, Anna Price and colleagues highlight how the words we use in ADHD research and practice can shape understanding, influence stigma, and foster more compassionate care. NIHR Three Schools’ Mental Health Research Fellowship (reference: MHF008)
As we observe ADHD Awareness Month, the SPCR reaffirms its commitment to research that promotes understanding, reduces stigma, and supports individuals with ADHD to thrive within inclusive communities.
