Two researchers with strong links to the Three Schools’ Mental Health Programme are helping lead a major new National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) investment at Keele University.

Keele Mental Health Researchers Lead £11m NIHR Award

Professor Carolyn Chew-Graham and Dr Gary Lamph, both previous recipients of Three Schools’ Mental Health Programme funding, are co-leading a new Mental Health Research Group at Keele after the University secured £11 million as part of a national £55 million NIHR funding initiative.

The Keele-led group, working with partners at the University of Birmingham, King’s College London, and Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, will focus on improving mental health support in the North-West Midlands, particularly for underserved populations. Research will explore how primary care, community and voluntary organisations can better support people with long-term conditions, complex emotional needs, and mental health problems.
