Online Roundtable: Strengthening Peer Support in Mother and Baby Units - Launch of the RAPPORT study findings
Various
Thursday, 07 May 2026, 2pm to 3pm
Hosted by Claire Ashmore
Women and birthing people admitted to Mother and Baby Units (MBUs) are among the most clinically complex and high-risk groups in perinatal mental health care. While peer support is offered in many MBUs, there is limited evidence on what works, for whom, and how it can be delivered and sustained.
The RAPPORT study (Realist evaluation of Action on Postpartum MBU-embedded peer support), led by Dr Annette Bauer (London School of Economics and Political Science) in partnership with Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP) and academic collaborators, addresses this gap.
This event marks the launch of the RAPPORT study findings. We will share key insights on how peer support in MBUs works, how to support Peer Support Facilitators, and what is needed for effective and sustainable implementation.
