We are delighted to welcome invited guests to the 2024 Annual Trainees Event at Manchester Piccadilly Hotel on 18-19 September 2024.
- Registration and refreshments on Wednesday 18th September will start 10.30 - 11.15am and the day will finish at 5pm.
- Evening meal on 18th September will be from 7pm - 7.30pm
- Registration and refreshments on Thursday 19th September will start 8.45 - 9.15am and the day will finish at 4pm.
This event is a wonderful opportunity for our Trainees community to get together to participate in talks, workshops and training, as well as providing networking opportunities to get to know other PhD students, early career researchers and senior academics based within the SPCR.
Please note that attendance at this event is by invitation only.
Our Trainees Event will be held at the Manchester Piccadilly Hotel on 18-19 September 2024.
We would like to take an environmentally friendly approach to our event and therefore will not be printing the programme for all guests. OVERNIGHT STAY:
Check- in is available from 3pm, with checkout by 11am on Thursday 19th September. The SPCR Directorate team will be working with the hotel staff to help to facilitate a smooth check in process.
Breakfast is included with your booking and you can enjoy a great selection of seasonal food and drink in the restaurant which is open from 6:30am to 10:00am for breakfast.

We will be taking photos during the event, these might be published on the SPCR website and SPCR social media. If you do not want to be included in the pictures, please inform the SPCR Team: spcr@keele.ac.uk in advance of the meeting.
As part of our Trainees Event, our award holders have been asked to present their research in a 'elevator pitch', on the afternoon of Wednesday 18 September as part of the SPCR Trainees Event. Each talk with be 3 minutes long, with 3 slides, followed by the opportunity to ask questions. We hope that you will use it to find out more about the award holders and their research, and to aid networking.
We would like to take an environmentally friendly approach to our event and therefore will not be printing a physical copy for attendees. The Abstract Booklet can be viewed using the links below:
