Supporting Nursing Research in Primary Care
10.15AM - 15.00PM
Keele Hall
Keele University
ST5 5BG

The NIHR School for Primary Care Research (SPCR) is inviting primary care nursing academics and clinicians to Keele University to discuss how the school can support the needs of Nursing Research moving forward. Nursing is an underrepresented profession in research with evidence suggesting less that 8% of NIHR funding has gone to nurses and nursing research. Professor Christian Mallen (SPCR Director) has been a great advocate for research led by nurses and AHPs and will Co-Chair this event with Dr Andrew Finney (Senior Lecturer of Nursing and Primary Care Researcher).

It is hoped that in sharing what nursing needs, to develop a primary care nursing research culture and what the SPCR can do to help, this event will help us to find synergy moving forward.

There will be brief presentations in the morning from Prof Ruth Endacott, Prof Joanne Cooper and the RCN and we will adopt a workshop approach in the afternoon.

Please join us a Keele Hall in the heart of our beautiful campus at Keele University. Refreshments and lunch will be served throughout the day and free parking is available.
