We are pleased to congratulate our NIHR School for Primary Care Research (SPCR) colleagues whose work has been recognised in the British Journal of General Practice (BJGP) Top Ten most read and published papers of 2025.

SPCR-Funded Research Recognised by BJGP

This annual list celebrates the most engaging, widely accessed and impactful research published in the BJGP over the past year. It highlights high-profile primary care research and clinical innovation that has resonated with clinicians, academics and the wider healthcare community alike.

Among these contributions, a special congratulations goes to the team behind the paper ranked number 6 on this prestigious list, titled Technostress, technosuffering, and relational strain: a multi method qualitative study of how remote and digital work affects staff in UK general practice.

This work was funded by the SPCR, with lead author Francesca Dakin publishing under a 3-year Studentship (Award number C006).

The full BJGP Top Ten list for 2025 showcases a diverse range of research topics, from the adoption of clinical pharmacist roles in primary care, to the role of artificial intelligence in early lung cancer detection, and trials exploring the effectiveness of common medications in real-world general practice settings. We extend our sincere congratulations to all SPCR colleagues whose research made this year’s Top Ten list.
