Accessibility and acceptability of mental health support for domestic abuse
- 1 February 2026 to 31 January 2027
- Project No: 787
- Funding round: PPIE
Lead Applicants: Christina Palantza & Karen Morgan
Lead Member: Bristol
We plan to hold two 90-minute meetings with groups of survivors of domestic abuse and professionals providing mental health support to survivors of domestic abuse. In these meetings, we will present the projects of CP's PhD and ask them of their opinions of the methods, their understanding of the findings and suggestions for refinement of the findings. The first meeting with each group will be held in person, in order to foster building trust, and the second meeting will be held online. The second meeting will focus on evaluating the integration of the feedback from the first meeting. A brief description of the projects and a summary of the findings in plain English language will be sent two weeks prior to the first meeting, and a revised version of the findings will be sent two weeks prior to the second meeting.
- The aim is to ensure that all relevant interpretations of the findings have been considered and that all knowledge that is relevant to the public has been produced
- The approach is an open group discussion with minimal guidance from CP
- The activities should start in early January 2026, when there are some findings, but the analyses are not fully finalised, so that there is space for changes and additions. The activities should end in December 2026, so that there is enough time for the follow-up meetings after the feedback from the first meetings has been incorporated, and that the analyses can be finalised in time for CP's PhD dissertation submission (summer 2027).
