The session provided an introduction to the research process and discussed practical examples of involvement that can happen along the way.
The session also introduced attendees to the newly launched SPCR Public Collaborator Training Booklet, and exciting future plans around training opportunities for public collaborators were shared.
About the Speaker/s:
- Beccy Summers is a Research Associate with the Applied Research Collaboration South West Peninsula (PenARC) Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Team. Her work focuses on exploring different methods for patient and public involvement with a special interest in creative methods to support inclusive involvement in research.
- Annette Allinson is a Public Collaborator with the Exeter Collaboration for Academic Primary Care (APEx) Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Group. She has lived experience of being a carer and living with a long-term health condition. She has a long history of involvement with APEx and PenARC and has worked on a broad range of research projects through the years. She particularly enjoys being involved in generating ideas for research!
