The Mental Elf, in partnership with the NIHR Mental Health Research Initiative, is launching a new video series for Mental Health Awareness Week, spotlighting key priorities in mental health research.

New Mental Elf Video Series to Mark Mental Health Awareness Week

As part of the NIHR Mental Health Research Initiative (MHRI), The Mental Elf has produced a new video series highlighting key themes in mental health research, with a focus on inclusivity, accessibility, and collaboration. The four-part series was shared during Mental Health Awareness Week, from 12–16 May.

Produced by The Mental Elf and featuring mental health researchers from across the UK, these videos describe the NIHR Mental Health Research Initiative—the NIHR’s biggest coordinated investment in applied mental health research. Through bold funding, strategic collaborations, and new training opportunities, the MHRI is supporting applied mental health research for the communities and regions who need it most. By involving people from all communities, targeting underserved regions, supporting early career researchers, and facilitating partnerships across sectors. The Mental Elf have spoken to researchers across the UK who have been supported by the MHRI to make a real difference in their local communities. And now, we’re bringing their stories to you.

The videos are all available on The Mental Elf’s YouTube channel. Each video features leading researchers and practitioners discussing priority areas for mental health research in the UK:
